Harry Grenville Duff Award

Harry Grenville Duff (1929–1994) spent his entire life in Cooksville, living and playing as a child in those areas about which he has so fondly written — the area that was first settled by his 3G-Grandfather, Daniel Harris.

Harry was twice Chairman of the Halton-Peel Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, and it was as a result of the research he conducted into the history of his various ancestral families that he became so interested in the history of those people, and the places and times in which they lived.

Following Harry's death, his wife Jan created the Harry Grenville Duff Award as a memorial to be presented annually from 1994 to 2012, to a member of the Halton-Peel Branch who had made significant contributions to the genealogical and historical work of the Society.  The award consisted of a book up to a value of $100, to be chosen by the recipient.

We thank Jan for her generosity and memory of Harry and to his contributions to family research in the Port Credit area of Mississauga.
